Arequipa’s beaches are almost ready to welcome this summer tourists from countries, such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia, who, in the last years, have arrived to this Peruvian place with increasing frequency, the regional manager of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Rocío Cervantes, reported Tuesday.
The regional representative highlighted that during the summer of this year, beaches of Camaná and Islay (Mollendo), located in the department of Arequipa, have received 3,202 foreign tourists, a number that is increasing every year.
She pointed out that since December this year, tourist operators of this region will offer tour packages, which are scheduled for next summer season in order to attract more tourists.
The first package includes a tour around the cities of Islay and Matarani, and the district of Cocachacra, where people will be able to try the best Peruvian “alfajor” (a traditional cookie in some regions of Spain and Latin America), owned by the family Vildoso.
